Aries: The Ultimate Hero When You Need One.




Everyone gets stuck every once in a while. Maybe you need help with being picked up from the airport, or maybe you just need help with picking up food. Whatever your problem may be, the Aries sign is the sign known for coming to people's rescue.


In this post we're going to cover the best yoga posture for the Aries sign to help them feel their most heroic and keep them first on the list of human helpers. But first, what are some of the personality traits of the Aries? Aries people are the first of the zodiac signs, and the first of the fire elements.  Aries are the type of humans who are perceived as the “first responders.” They almost always have massive inner confidence, and they are the trailblazing leaders ahead of the pack. Full of moxie, courage, and stamina Aries zodiac signs are willing to fight to save the good and willing to be as dark as it takes to conquer evil. They are extremely independent people who thrive during times of crisis or challenge. Aries are known for being enthusiastic, optimistic, honest, and passionate.


The yoga posture that is going to keep the Aries sign on top of their game is the Hero Pose, or Virasana in Sanskrit.



Hero pose is one of the first developed yoga postures codified in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika was written thousands of years ago and was one of the first texts to label and organize yoga postures that help to heal the body from blockages and aging. Hero yoga pose was created to help keep the practitioner strong in their spine and flexible in their upper legs. This way they could spend long periods of time in deep meditation without having to feel the pain and strain from their body.


Hero pose is an excellent pose to stretch the quadriceps, develop strong muscles in the back body, and helps to stretch the tops of the feet too. To Come into Hero's Pose:


  1. Start by kneeling on the mat with your knees together and your feet slightly apart. The tops of your feet should be flat on the mat.

  2. Gently lower your hips back between your heels. If your hips don't comfortably reach the mat, you can place a folded blanket or cushion between your feet for support.

  3. Keep your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. Place your hands on your thighs or knees.

  4. If you're comfortable and want to deepen the stretch, you can try reaching your arms back and placing your hands on the mat beside your feet. Ensure that your fingers are pointing towards your feet.

  5. Stay in the pose for a comfortable amount of time, breathing deeply and maintaining good posture.

  6. To come out of the pose, gently use your hands to lift your hips away from your heels. Extend your legs in front of you and shake them out if needed.


** It is not recommended to perform this yoga posture if you have severe arthritis in your knees or are recovering from knee surgery. It is suggested to sit on a bolster if you are experiencing mild knee or hip pain.


Hero's pose is ancient and celebrated for creating space and stabilizing the body. Aries signs, you need to be practicing this pose to accentuate the natural hero you are. This yoga posture will allow you space in your legs to run and will strengthen your deep core muscles which will help support you in all your heroic acts.
